On Februrary 5th we left for Southern California on what was supposed to be a 5-7 day long trip while we visited with family and friends in the mountains. It unexpectedly was extended when we learned that Corey's Grandma Jo was in the hospital. So on Sunday the 10th we headed to Henderson, NV, just outside of Las Vegas. We were there while she was in the hospital, moved to hospice care, and finally on the 18th passed away. The wake was on Thursday the 21st, and the funeral was on Friday the 22nd. Saturday we left and headed back to the mountains of SoCal and stayed with Corey's brother Dennis and his girlfriend April. We left there on Tuesday the 26th to go to Raymond, CA near Yosemite to visit with some old friends from our California Conservations Corps days, Brandi and her husband Casey. Another friend from the CCC Kyle met us there. We had so much fun seeing them again and stayed until Thursday afternoon when we finally headed back home to Walnut Creek.
